Festival lineup nearly finalized;
Esperanza Spalding headliner

Esperanza Spalding -- the young bassist, vocalist, composer -- will be one of the major headliners during the 23rd annual Boscov's Berks Jazz Fest.
The date, time and venue will be announced Sunday, Nov. 25.
Spalding was one of the biggest breakout stars of 2011 -- not just in jazz, but in all genres of music. Her receipt of the 2011 Grammy Award for Best New Artist was unprecedented -- the first time a jazz musician had won the award.
Esperanza Spalding will be touring with her 11-piece Radio Music Society ensemble -- also the name of her current CD -- featuring a seven-piece horn section.
After reviewing Esperanza's concert, Rick Nowlin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently wrote: "Let's cut to the chase. If you ever have the chance to see Esperanza Spalding in concert, consider it a bargain at twice the price."
Other headliners: Dianne Reeves, Will Downing, Najee, Lee Ritenour, Fourplay, Incognito, Kirk Whalum, Maysa
The lineup and schedule for the 23rd annual Boscov's Berks Jazz Fest is close to being finalized -- and it's going to be a great 10 days of music.
In addition to Esperanza Spalding, other confirmed artists are Dianne Reeves, who will be performing with the Reading Symphony Orchestra; Will Downing; Najee with special guest Alex Bugnon, and Lee Ritenour with special guest Michael Lington.
Kurt Elling; Arturo Sandoval (photo); Keiko Matsui; Gerald Veasley's Sounds of Philly featuring Phil Perry, Nick Colionne, Carol Riddick and Kindred The Family Soul; Fourplay with special guest Lalah Hathaway.

Let us know your thoughts on the lineup. Complete lineup and schedule will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 25.
