Jessy J to perform with Elan Trotman for Jazz Brunch
Saxophonist Jessy J has joined the lineup for the 24th annual Boscov's Berks Jazz Fest.
     Jessy J will perform with saxophonist Elan Trotman during the special Sunday Jazz Brunch at Building 24 Live on Sunday, March 30.
     Jessy replaces Jackiem Joyner who had to drop out of the fest because of a surprise schedule conflict.
     The brunch schedule features doors at 10 a.m. with the concert to begin at 11 a.m. Concert tickets are $25. There will be a special a la carte brunch menu for the event.

Lineup, schedule announced; concert tickets on sale now
     The star-studded lineup for the 24th annual Boscov's Berks Jazz Fest is set.
     The 10-day fest set for March 28-April 6, 2014 will feature the best in contemporary jazz, traditional jazz, blues, gospel, and more.
The lineup includes Chuck Loeb & Friends featuring Phil Perry, Everette Harp, Bobby Lyle, Carmen Cuesta, Lizzy Loeb; Lalah Hathaway with special guest Rashaan Patterson; Candy Dulfer (photo at right); Oleta Adams, who will be part of Kirk Whalum's Gospel According to Jazz Celebration that also features Rick Braun, Gerald Veasley, Kevin Whalum, John Stoddart and the DOXA Gospel Choir; Eldar & Brian Bromberg; Jeff Lorber Fusion featuring Eric Marienthal, Jimmy Haslip, Lionel Cordew with special guest Randy Brecker.
     They all join the lineup that also includes Keiko Matsui and the Reading Pops Orchestra; Chieli Minucci & Special EFX featuring special guests Steve Oliver and Vincent Ingala; The Sax Pack featuring Jeff Kashiwa, Steve Cole, Marcus Anderson; Boney James, Spyro Gyra, Gregory Porter, Raul Midon (photo at left), BW3 featuring Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum and Norman Brown, Nick Colionne, Madeleine Peyroux, Peabo Bryson, Gerald Albright, Mindi Abair, Richard Elliot, Kevin Eubanks, Elan Trotman.
     Jason Miles' Sly Reimagined: The Music of Sly & the Family Stone featuring Nona Hendryx, Maysa, Andy Snitzer, Alex Bugnon, Falu, Maya Azucena, Jay Rodriguez, Will Bernard, Amanda Ruzza, JT Lewis.
    Generation Next featuring Julian Vaughn, Nicholas Cole, Lin Rountree, Lebron; Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Ana Popovic, Bonerama, Shemekia Copeland, Albert Cummings, Alexis P. Suter Band.
Berks Jazz Fest artists receive 10 Grammy nominations
     The Boscov's Berks Jazz Fest will be well represented when the 2014 Grammy Awards are presented on Sunday, Jan. 26, in Los Angeles.
     Nine artists set to perform at the Berks Jazz Fest received 10 Grammy nominations.
     Gregory Porter received two nominations -- Best Jazz Vocal Album category for Liquid Soul, and for Best Traditional R&B Performance for "Hey Laura" from Liquid Soul.
     The Best Pop Instrumental Album category featured nominations for the following Berks Jazz Fest artists: Boney James for The Beat; Gerald Albright, Mindi Abair and Richard Elliot for Summer Horns; and Jeff Lorber Fusion for Hacienda.
     Maysa (photo) was nominated in Best Traditional R&B Performance for "Quiet Fire."
     Lalah Hathaway was nominated in the Best R&B Performance category for "Something," a collaboration with Snarky Puppy.
     Randy Brecker was nominated in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album for Night in Calisia, a CD collaboration with Wlodek Pawlik.

Rick Braun comes 'home'
for special fest preview
concert at Musikfest Cafe

Friday, March 21 / 7:30 p.m.
 Last year, the Boscov's Berks Jazz Fest and Musikfest Cafe in Bethlehem collaborated to present a special festival preview concert featuring Rick Braun.
    It was the first time that Rick performed in his hometown area of Allentown and the Lehigh Valley.
   Well, "Homecoming Concert II" is set for Friday, March 21, 7:30 p.m., at the Musikfest Cafe located on the SteelStacks complex in Bethlehem.
   Tickets are available NOW.

    Hathaway will be performing Friday, April 4, 10:00 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza Reading ballroom.
    Hathaway and her band will be joined by special guest Rahsaan Patterson, the amazing R&B vocalist.
