Jason Miles' Sly Reimagined show
features all-star lineup
Berks Jazz Fest fans have been
entertained many times by
Jason Miles-produced projects,
including concerts featuring the
Marvin Gaye, Miles
Davis, Ivan Lins, Luther
Vandross, and Grover Washington

back this year to present his
under his Global Noize brand
-- Sly Imagined: The Music of
Sly & The Family Stone.
The concert is set for Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m. at
the Crowne Plaza Reading ballroom.
As with his previous projects, Miles has assembled an
all-star lineup of artists to
perform the music of the
legendary 1970s funk icon.
Miles will be
vocalists Nona Hendryx (photo at
Falu, and Maya Azucena; Karen
Briggs, violin; Andy Snitzer and
Jay Rodriguez, saxophone; Alex Bugnon, keyboards; Will Bernard,
guitar; Amanda Ruzza, bass; and
JT Lewis, drums.
It does not get any better than that.

Veasley's Boot Camp set
Gerald Veasley's annual Bass Boot Camp will be held Friday, Feb.
28, Saturday, March 1, and Sunday, March 2, at the Crowne Plaza Reading.
Whether you're a seasoned bassist or novice, Gerald and his
world-class faculty will plug you into the joy of bass playing -- technique,
theory and of course, those funky bass lines!
For more information and to register,
Crowne Plaza Reading, the host hotel of the fest, will be using a
Mardi Gras theme again during the 10-day feat, featuring decorations, special
menus -- and, of course, plenty of beads for guests and fest fans.
WRTI-FM in Philadelphia is giving away two
Berks Jazz Fest Weekend Getaway packages during its upcoming on-air fundraising
Tune it and make a pledge on either Monday, January 27, and

The Boscov's Berks Jazz
Fest schedule features a dynamic lineup of blues artists, including the amazing
Popovic will be performing on Friday, April 4, 7:30 p.m., at
the Inn of Reading.
Opening the dynamic double-bill will be harpist Steve Guyger
& The Excellos.
Popovic -- the award-winning, hard-touring, guitar slinger --
blends smoking electric funk and slide guitar, jazzy instrumentals and a tight
blues groove with soulful, feminine vocals.
Add to the mix her incredible stage presence, all of which
makes her an irresistible force in the world of contemporary blues music.
Ana has been nominated for the Contemporary Blues Female
Artist of the Year.
It is Popovic's fifth Blues Music Award nomination.
