The Berks All-Star Jazz Jam has become an annual must-see and must-hear event.
It certainly is understandable why.
Having a stage full of some of the top contemporary jazz artists in the world interacting, improvising and collaborating is a magical musical experience for the audience.
After all, the art of jazz is improvisation in which jazz musicians create spontaneous art every time they play. Having them doing it collectively and simultaneously enhances the art exponentially.
This year’s Berks All-Star Jazz Jam is populated with stalwarts, such luminaries as Rick Braun on trumpet; Norman Brown, Paul Jackson Jr. and David P Stevens on guitar; Gerald Veasley and Brian Bromberg on bass; Gerald Albright, Vincent Ingala, Andrew Neu, Everette Harp, Andy Snitzer and Richard Elliot on sax; Phil Perry on vocals; Marcus Finnie on drums; and Keiko Matsui, Brian Simpson, and Chris “Big Dog” Davis on keys.
