Guitarist, composer and producer Chuck Loeb has had a musical career that spans over four decades, and he is proud to be known as a “renaissance man” in the music world.
Loeb, who hardly needs an introduction to Berks Jazz Fest patrons, is a marquee jazz recording artist (18 solo albums) and performer; composer of over 250 published songs, network television show themes and scores; a producer of over 30 world-renowned recording artists; as well as an in-demand clinician and educator.
He is joined by drummer Lionel Cordew; bassist Ron Jenkins; pianist David Mann; pianist Charles Blenzig; The Berks Horns with Mike Anderson on saxophone, John Loss on trombone and Rob Diener on trumpet; and special guest pianist Bobby Lyle.
Loeb is one of the busiest artists in the world. He is a member of the premier jazz group Fourplay and the ground-breaking fusion band Metro.
Sound has been a central focus in Loeb’s musical journey, intensified greatly by the influence of Stan Getz. Loeb joined the Getz band in 1979 and toured and recorded with the jazz legend for several years.
Loeb also was a member of the all-star group featuring Michael Brecker, who Loeb considers his greatest musical inspiration.
His album Unspoken received a 2017 Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
