Cheers Lounge Jazz Party
AL “DJ ACT” TAYLOR
DoubleTree by Hilton Reading / Cheers Lounge
Al “DJ ACT” Taylor is back for the third consecutive year to host five Cheers Lounge jazz parties during the Berks Jazz Fest.
Taylor always had a love for good music and good people having a good time. Music was not only a passion but a true hobby.
If you stopped by his house when he was a teenager, you would be stuck in the aura of him playing all the right music. His skills in music collaborations had people staying in the dining room for hours. Soon he was convinced to take his that he should go beyond his dining room.
Taylor has gone on to become a DJ, on-air personality, and promoter/producer.
Taylor formed ACT Jams Productions in 2003, the same year he started producing “Smooth Jazz & R&B Affairs,” which featured live musicians and an old school dance party.
To date, Taylor has worked with many artists for his “Up Close & Personal” jazz series, including Najee, Will Downing, Maysa, Chris “Big Dog” Davis, Bob Baldwin, Kim Waters, Tom Browne, Althea Rene, Adam Hawley, Ragan Whiteside, Marcus Anderson, Phil Denny, JJ Sansaverino, Eric Leone, Steve Clarke, Norman Johnson, and Will Prince.
He also hosts a weekly syndicated contemporary jazz show — “The Grooove” — that is aired on Jazz Moods Radio every Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. You can hear it on www.soundcloud.com listed under ACT Jams Radio.
