REMEMBERING STAN DANNER
The Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest family sadly lost one of its own on Tuesday.
Stan Danner, a longtime production volunteer, passed away after a courageous battle against injuries sustained in a severe fall on February 16.
For more than 30 years, Stan was an integral part of the fest’s volunteer production team — the dedicated crew that serves as the heartbeat of the Berks Jazz Fest.
His commitment had no limits, a devotion he carried faithfully until retiring after the 2023 fest.
If there was an early load-in before a show, Stan was there.
If there was a late load-out after the final encore, Stan was there.
Simply put, Stan loved everything about the Berks Jazz Fest.
And everyone loved Stan — from his fellow volunteers and production vendors to headline artists, fans, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
He was a fun-loving character who delighted in making people laugh — and occasionally wince — with his perfectly timed sarcastic humor.
Stan's presence backstage and beyond brought leadership, energy, reliability, and heart to every event he touched.
Stan will be deeply missed. Yet he leaves behind a legacy woven into decades of extraordinary musical memories — moments his Berks Jazz Fest family will cherish forever.
As we prepare to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the fest in two weeks, Stan will be very much in our thoughts and in our hearts.
